R.I.P. LOVERS

Everyone will have gone through a breakup, or experienced a relationship ending at some point in their lives. Taiwanese-born and New York-based photographer Kao Cheng Kai shot this story in an attempt to explore different types of mourning past relationships. As one of the five stages of grief and loss, mourning after an ex lover can come in various shapes and forms, affecting each person differently. It can take shape as a heartbroken gloom hovering over the sorrowful sufferer. It can be a beam of sunlight offering faith in new prospects and bright beginnings. And sometimes, it can be reduced to simply mourning the best dick of your life thus far. RIP.
