Beneath the innocence

Dolls are a curious thing. Intriguing in their perfect plasticity, they’re a fantasy object we as humans externalise ourselves onto. Children obsess over dolls for their singularity but then turn against them in adolescence for being silly and trivial. If you come to them later in life, however, you might start to realise their strange complexity, their multiple meanings. Dolls can be just as much darkness and reality as they are ideal and fairy tale…
